A Letter from the Editor

Particular Magic is a literary magazine featuring pieces primarily written by women (and on occasion people loved by women) who are early in their writing careers or who don’t normally write prose. We publish essays, fiction, and poetry online (and in print soon, too) quarterly (roughly.)

The first edition, titled Home, is available to read now online and will be available in print as soon as we figure out how to do that. This issue is dedicated to the city of Los Angeles, where this magazine was conceived, and where there is, in my opinion, the highest concentration of magic in the world. I am honored to have collected writing from womxn I know in Los Angeles who have changed and shaped my world through their love in the six years I spent there. I hope you enjoy reading these pieces as much as I have enjoyed editing them.
